Meet our Externs

​Emma Chin (she/her/hers) is a 2nd Year at Carleton College and intended Sociology/Anthropology major and Gender, Women's and Sexuality Studies minor. As an undeclared sophomore at Carleton College, Emma has a growing interest in Gender, Women's and Sexuality Studies. She's interested in working with the Center in their study of GBV and the practical side of GWSS. Emma plans to help the Center with building a social media presence and creating consciousness about GBV. Some of Emma's research interests include: intersectionality, gender-based violence and cultural sexual harassment.​

​Taylor Thulson (she/her/hers) is a 3rd Year Political Science/International Relations Major and Spanish Minor at Carleton College. She was drawn to the Center for their proactive mission to research and prevention of gender-based violence, and their commitment to create materials that educate the public on these issues. Taylor is excited to expand her knowledge base on these issues and utilize these ideas/skills throughout her education at Carleton and beyond. Some of Taylor's research interest include: feminist theory in political science and prevention of gender based-violence​

​Eko Manson (they/them/theirs) is an undergraduate student at Carleton College majoring in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and minoring in Japanese. They will graduate with their Bachelor of Arts in June 2023. Eko is involved with Carleton's Campus Advocates Against Sexual Harassment and Assault, a student-run organization that offers support to students affected by sexual harassment or assault, and also leads a rock climbing club for women and non-binary people. They are passionate about destigmatizing sex work, improving K-12 sex education, and advocating for individuals' sexual citizenship. ​

​Lauren Yamasaki-Liske (she/her/hers) is a current undergraduate student at Carleton College. She is majoring in Psychology and pursuing a minor in Gender, Women's, and Sexuality studies. Lauren plans to graduate in June 2022 after she completes her senior capstone project on multiracial mental health outcomes and the socioemotional impacts of monoracism. In particular, Lauren is interested in expanding the scope of trauma care to better serve multicultural communities and advocating for the expansion of more culturally competent mental health services. ​
